Cleaning and polishing mirrors

Some people may think that the mirror is just a tool to reflect the image only, but with another look, it is more artistic, whether your home is classic or modern.

The mirror is one of the most important pieces of home decor, as it represents an elegant corner of it, and it also helps in expanding narrow spaces.

A piece of art like this needs special attention and care, to keep the room looking elegant.

How many times have you polished the mirrors but didn't get the best result, where stains and streaks remain!

From today, you will forget about that annoying sight and keep your mirror-like you just bought it, by knowing the correct mirror cleaning method.

Tools

  • An appropriate amount of red alcohol.
  • Half a cup of distilled water.
  • Half a cup of vinegar.
  • spray bottle.
  • Microfiber cloth.

steps

1. Dip the end of the cloth into the bowl of red alcohol, and begin to remove traces of dust, handprints, toothpaste, and any stains.

It is this step that prevents you from turning spots into streaks, and also gives them the perfect shine.

2. Mix half a cup of distilled water with the same amount of vinegar, put them in a spray bottle, and shake well.

3. Put an appropriate amount of it on the cloth, and start cleaning.

Note: Cleaning must be in the pattern of the letter “ Z ” i.e. start from the top left of the mirror, to the top right of it, going to the bottom left, then the far right.

4. After you finish, move away from the mirror and look at it from several different angles until you see what you did not see up close.

5. If you find any stains or dirt, quickly clean them up with a vinegar solution.

Avoid the following bad habits when cleaning mirrors

  • Warning 1: It is vinegar with distilled water that prevents the formation of streaks, while ready-made detergents contain a lot of soap, which helps in their formation.
  • Warning 2: The mixture should be placed on the cloth, and not directly on the mirror so that the liquid does not collect in the corners and form spots.
  • Warning 3: If you use tissue paper for cleaning, these materials will leave lint on the mirror that is difficult to remove.
  • Warning 4: Previously using newspapers to polish mirrors was a practical choice, but with today's changing materials for ink, it could leave a residue that could ruin the look of the mirror.
  • Warning 5: Microfiber cloths are better at cleaning mirrors because other thicker fabrics contain lint that leaves streaks on the mirror.
